Made in both Replay and Regular (Novelty Play) models. The 1-player version of this game is Midway's 1962 'Target Gallery' and was released in July of that year. The earliest reference we can find for this 2-player version is in Cash Box, Nov-10-1962, page 102, in a column titled "California Clippings" where an operator was "anticipating the arrival of the new 2 Player Target Gallery from Midway." In Cash Box Dec-8-1962, page 63, this 2-player game was referenced as "receiving terrific acceptance" from operators. A photo of this 2-player game appeared in Cash Box, Aug-10-1963, Part III, page 17, in their photo gallery roundup of games produced July 1962 to June 1963. The manufacturer's flyer shows the replay version of this game where the replay window is seen on the lower portion of the tree trunk on the backglass. Not visible in the flyer and below each set of outlanes is a rebound rubber stretched the length of the shallow drain angle, likely to allow the outlane ball some "bounce". The sole game pictured here is the Novelty version having a much simpler playfield without the horseshoe lanes or the outlanes. There is no replay window on the backglass tree trunk. We are seeking your hi-res images of either version of this 2-player game, inside and out, as well as a schematic and any other manufacturer documentation.
