- Flipcommons AI Descriptions (System)FAST Pinball is the machine-control platform of [[manufacturer:fast-pinball]], a hardware company founded in 2014 by [[person:aaron-davis]] and [[person:dave-beecher]] and based in the Seattle area. The firm builds no machines of its own; it sells control electronics to the people who do — individual hobbyists, indie game studios and commercial manufacturers, for new machines built from scratch as well as kits that update old ones.[1][2] Two platforms share the family. The Modern platform is built around the Neuron controller, which combines machine control, smart power-system monitoring and room to expand with the I/O boards a full-size game needs.[3] The Retro platform takes the same electronics thinking into classic machines, letting builders expand and modernize games from [[system:williams-system-11]] through the WPC era to [[system:wpc-95]].[4] ## Machines on FAST hardware Commercial machines run on the platform at both ends of the boutique trade. [[manufacturer:barrels-of-fun]] built its first game, *[[title:jim-hensons-labyrinth]]* (2023) — a run limited to 1,100 units — around the FAST boardset, which drives the playfield devices, the sound system and the machine's two displays.[5] [[manufacturer:pedretti-gaming]]'s *[[title:funhouse]]* remake lists the Neuron CPU, with FAST power-filter and audio boards, as its game electronics.[6] And the officially licensed "2.0" kits — products that install into a classic [[manufacturer:bally]] or [[manufacturer:williams]] machine and turn it into a new game while keeping the original intact — came onto FAST hardware as a group when the category went commercial: [[person:james-cardona]], who had built his *[[title:no-good-gofers-battle-for-the-green]]* kit on the [[system:multimorphic-p-roc]], recoded it for the FAST platform to match the other kit makers,[7] and his later kits, through *[[title:fish-tales-ultimate-fishing-challenge]]* (2026), ship with FAST Pinball handling the hardware.[8]
